Insomnia Ireland - 10th to 12th June
Founded in 1999, for over 16 years the Insomnia Gaming Festival has been a place for gamers of all backgrounds to congregate, socialise, discover new things and celebrate all things gaming.
Now in its 10th Year, Ireland Bikefest provides Motorcycle Owners and enthusiasts with a quality experience which incorporates a taste of Ireland's culture and heritage alongside a programme of entertainment and connects with the biking community set against the stunning backdrops of Killarney and the Wild Atlantic Way.
Enjoy the great outdoors with a Killarney Walking Festival holiday this June. The Festival incorporates a 2-day walking program, surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery you can imagine. There are a variety of walks to suit all ages and levels of ability.
The third annual 4th of July celebrations will see Main Street in Killarney turn into downtown USA. The day will start off with the ceremonial hoisting of the Star Spangled Banner Flag over Killarney Town Hall at 7.00 am. Throughout the day Killarney will be alive with an American theme with an array of entertainment. The main event will be a celebration parade throughout the town at 8.00 pm with fantastic entertainment for all the family.
Legendary folk singer Christy Moore headlines Saturday night at Folkfest 2016 and Damien Dempsey headlines on the Friday night. Other confirmed acts over the weekend include traditional flute genius, Mike McGoldrick who tours with Mark Knopfler; fiddle player and composer, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, formerly of the Frames; Maria Doyle Kennedy. There are many more quality acts to be announced, for what guarantees to be a great weekend!
Now in its third year, there are two tantalizing routes are on offer. Depart from Killarney on the Wrong Way Round and tackle Molls Gap before heading for the scenic South West via Sneem. From there on the route is familiar passing Waterville, Cahersiveen, Glenbeigh and Killorglin.
You can also cycle "The Hard Way Round" taking a detour around the stunning Skellig Ring before rejoining the main troop on the road to Cahersiveen.
Cross the finish line at the festival headquarters – The Gleneagle Hotel Killarney, where a barbecue and live entertainment will be ready and waiting.
